Even after aligning items with grid or layout functions, they may not end up exactly where you want them. There may be an offset of several pixels, or even a one-pixel offset that is difficult to notice visually. Turbo Guide Line lets you fine-tune the alignment.
The controls are left-aligned using the Visual Studio layout functions. A reference line was drawn to match the bottom combo box. Checking with Turbo Guide Line's zoom function shows the following:
| Control | Offset |
|---|---|
| Label1 | Yes |
| Label2 | No |
| Label3 | No |
| Button1 | Yes |
| CheckBox1 | No |
Labels may have margins or other spacing, so the first character does not always start at the left edge. Turbo Guide Line can be used to align these precisely.
It can also be used to align shapes in office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. It can also be used to align windows themselves.
