Slope Profile is a window used to check elevation changes and slope trends around the selected GPX point.
The horizontal axis represents distance.
The elevation profile shows how the route climbs and
descends.
The slope profile shows the strength of each slope section.
Display Contents
Elevation
Displays the elevation transition based on the elevation included in the GPX data.
You can check the route shape around the selected point, such as climbs, descents, peaks, and valleys.
Slope
Displays slope calculated from distance and elevation difference.
Uphill is displayed as positive, and downhill is displayed as negative.
The slope line in Slope Profile uses slope calculated by the
CHART method.
In the CHART method, slope is calculated from elevation
differences at fixed distance intervals and displayed as a slope
line suitable for chart display.
Slope Color and Numeric Labels
Displays slope with colors according to slope strength.
Slope colors and numeric labels use slope values grouped by
fixed distance to make the display easier to read.
For this reason, they may not be exactly the same values as the
slope line.
Limitations
Slope Profile is a reference display based on the loaded GPX data.
It is not intended to exactly match official profile images such as those from the Giro d'Italia.
Why It May Not Match Official Profiles
Source Data Is Different
Official profiles may be created from course data prepared by the organizer, survey data, map data, elevation-corrected data, or other sources.
In contrast, Slope Profile uses distance and elevation from the loaded GPX file.
Therefore, even on the same course, displayed elevation and slope can differ when the source data is different.
Affected by GPX Point Granularity
GPX points are not always arranged at accurate fixed intervals.
If point intervals are wide, short steep slopes or small ups
and downs are difficult to represent.
If point intervals are too fine, elevation fluctuation may make
the slope appear unnaturally large.
Slope Profile calculates slope at intervals suitable for chart display, but it cannot restore information that does not exist in the GPX file.
Elevation Data Has Errors
The accuracy of elevation recorded in GPX files varies depending on the acquisition method, device, and service.
Elevation derived from GPS is especially prone to fluctuation and may differ from the actual road gradient.
When slope is calculated over short distances, it may be displayed as steeper uphill or downhill than it actually is.
Official Profiles May Be Processed for Readability
Official profile images may adjust elevation scale, distance scale, slope sections, colors, and other elements to clearly show the characteristics of the entire course.
For this reason, their appearance may differ from a Slope Profile drawn mechanically from GPX data.

Slope Profile is suitable for the following checks.
- Check climbs and descents around the selected point
- Check trends in steep and gentle sections
- Check elevation changes in GPX data
- Visually check slope changes

Slope Profile does not guarantee exact road gradient or a match with official profiles.
